Hispanics Reportedly Fly More, Spend More on Vacation: Caribbean Named as …
News from Latin Post:

According to a new survey, Hispanics spend more on vacations than non-Hispanics.

The study by Think Now Research, titled “Hispanics and Travel Research,” surveyed over 2,000 Hispanics and over 1,000 non-Hispanics ages 18-64 via online surveys conducted from February through May of this year. “Upscale” and “affluent” income groups, $ 50,000 – $ 90,000 and $ 100,000, respectively, were examined.

The study found that amongst the two income groups, Hispanics and non-Hispanics are equally likely to take a vacation. Hispanics, however, are more likely to take a plane to reach their domestic and/or international location, with 47 percent opting for an airplane for U.S. vacations, versus 41 percent of non-Hispanics. Seventy-four percent of Hispanics opt for a road trip via car, versus 83 percent of non-Hispanics.

“As expected, likelihood of traveling increases with income,” the survey says. “In the past year, 9-10 upscale Hispanics reported traveling in the past years; this was nearly 100 percent among the affluent group.”

King Schools Launches Alaska Flying Vacation Contest
News from Aviation International News:

Flight training provider King Schools, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, launched its second Alaskan Flying Adventure Sweepstakes today at EAA AirVenture 2014 in Oshkosh, Wis. Husband and wife training legends John and Martha King kicked off the contest, the winner of which will receive an Alaskan flying vacation for two valued at approximately $ 9,500, including a bush flying course and a chance to earn an add-on seaplane rating.

“Alaska has a special place in our hearts,” said John King. “Martha and I have made over 50 round trips from San Diego to Alaska in our own airplane and we have traveled the state in airplanes both on floats and on wheels.”

“We think it is very fitting that we are giving away an Alaskan flying vacation to a lucky pilot that will put them in touch with that amazing experience,” added Martha King. The sweepstakes will be open to entries until April 6, 2015, with the winner being announced at next year’s Sun ‘n Fun International Fly-In and Expo in Lakeland, Fla. The official rules of the contest are available on the company’s website.
